Announcing Heather Loebner as CircleIT’s new Vice President of Sustainability

Oklahoma City, OK (February 18, 2022) – CircleIT has appointed Heather Loebner as VP of Sustainability to lead CircleIT’s sustainability strategy, and to guide environmental, social and governance offerings to our clients. As a B Corporation committed to building a circular and carbon neutral economy through repurposing electronic waste, CircleIT is ecstatic to have someone of Heather’s capabilities and experience to expand the capacity, breadth, and impact of our organization and ESG offerings.

Prior to CircleIT, Heather held several leadership roles in the nonprofit and corporate sectors, including as the Executive Director of Palisades Park Conservancy, a bi-state nonprofit, Executive Director of ArcelorMittal USA Foundation, and Lead, Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability of Americas at ArcelorMittal, a Fortune 50 metals and mining business. At ArcelorMittal, Heather developed the company’s first global strategies and policies, driving change focused on water, land and raw material usage; human rights; stakeholder engagement; responsible sourcing; supply chain management; and transparency and reporting. Heather conceived and directed an award-winning bi-national public-private partnership, Sustain Our Great Lakes, that achieved $64 million dollars in on-the-ground conservation impact.

Among her other achievements, Heather has created and driven a multi-stakeholder engagement framework benefitting the State of Illinois’ agricultural sector that addressed climate impacts and informed policy and resiliency tactics; advised a private foundation on growth of their environmental portfolio on toxins/toxics; and developed a framework on US focused climate education with a public-private collaborative. During her tenure at HSBC, she launched new employee engagement initiatives, increasing volunteerism more than 400% in the first six months of her role; introduced educational scholarships aligned with HBCUs and DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) goals, and managed a diverse environment-education-social services grant portfolio.

“It is an incredible opportunity to add Heather to our sustainability team. We are excited to gain her experience on increasing transparency, establishing and achieving carbon net zero goals, and building social and environmental impacts that align with our B Corporate Certification.” – CircleIT President, Will Cohen

“I admire the work CircleIT has done to create programs and strategies that keep e-waste out of landfills and contributes to a circular economy.  CircleIT’s commitment to tackle climate change, the digital divide, and the e-waste crisis are aspirational.  I’m excited to align sustainable and carbon neutral services that connect CircleIT’s ESG offerings. Directing our internal and external work ensures CircleIT’s leadership role as the premier ITAD provider and brings solutions to address today’s climate challenges.” – CircleIT VP of Sustainability, Heather Loebner
